The First Pack Hunt

Subject: The First Pack Hunt Mon Apr 01, 2013 6:27 pm

The pack is searching for a meal in this green environment. Right now, the pack is stalking out an eldery or young elk. Please remember, no god modding. It is very important to not god-mod.

Prey: Elk, White-Tailed Deer, Regular Deer, and rodents.
Predators: In the woods/hunting grounds, bear, lone wolves, coyotes, and wolverines are common.

Dikota entered the huntig grounds where the elk and deer where roaming around. She was glad that Rain thought that she was well suited for her rank and was even more determined to show her that she was capable of being a killer. She looked around almost lazily. An old buck who was weak stood away from the other elk and she smirked. The brown fae waited for the others to catch up to her. She kept her green eyes locked on the buck as she lay down as some of the younger elk where becoming restless.

Luca was not far from his packmates. The creamy white male padded into the clearing. His ears perked as he sniffed the ground. There were lots of fresh scents. He glanced over at the brown fae, Dikota. She appeared to ready. The medic couldn't way to see her in action. He had no doubt that she would get her rank. Seeing that she had set her eyes on a old buck, he agreed it was the right choice. He padded over to a different side then crouched down. His ears flicked forward as he waited for Rain to give the signal and start the hunt.

(Sorry for the late reply, got stuck in school/science fair project)

Rain trotted over to where Luca and Dikota were standing. It already appeared that Dikota was ready. Rain noticed that Dikota was observing something. The fae turned her cranium towards the place Dikota had her eyes set. There, she could make out an eldery buck. Smirking, Rain silently worked out a stradegy in her head, reasoning ways they could attack, where, and how. Once getting her part of the stradegy, the white fae looked over to her pack. Once the tension got deep, and she could feel everyone was feeling unpatient, Rain gave a twitch of the ear. That, the little twitch was the signal to start the hunt.

Dikota saw Rain come in and spotted the elderly buck she had chosen. She waited she baited breath. A flick of the faes ear and the dark brown fae slunk closer slowly. She paused and flicked her tail to the ground. She need the elk on the ground to the quickest kill. She kept forward and into the elks side knocking it unbalanced. Its hoof got the killer on her side as it tried to regain its balance. Kota let out a yelp and jumped back. She snarled in pain determined to kill the buck even though she was injured.

Luca's ears perked. There's the signal. He bounded forward after the elk. Dikota had came from the other way. It appeared her strategy was to knock over the elk. A very risky move. Luca glanced over at the fae. It appeared she was injured. Doesn't look to bad, but I wont know for sure until I see it and treat the wound. Luca put his eyes back on the old buck. It was trying to get up. He might as well make the most of it from the risky move. The white male lunged forward and sunk his teeth into the creature's neck. There was taste of blood in his mouth as he kept hold.

Seeing Luca sink his fangs into the bucks neck holdig it down Dikota stepped onto its neck. She looked into its eyes and saw the agreement in there. It knew its time was up and haveing secured its approval she nodded once. Her brown paws braced her as she placed one by Lacas jaw andthe othe by the elderly bucks head. The killer closed her jaw around the back of its neck and jerked her head up. There was a snap and the bucks final breath left its body. Dikota let go and shook her head. She raised it and howled thanking the elk for its meat and helping send its spirt away. She then moved away so Rain could move in and deal with the carcass. Her side was sore and it hurt to breathe but the only sign was in her green eyes.

Luca watched the fae finish the buck. He released his jaws and shook his pelt. The creamy white male raised his head and joined in with a loud howl. When the howl ended, he turned his attention back on the fae's wounded side. No doubt she's in pain. He padded over and examined it. "Hmm.. goldenrod and some cobwebs should do the trick." he murmured to himself. "And some Chervil in case it gets worse". His dark hazel eyes turned to look at the fae. "You should come with me to the den so I can treat that wound. It'll hurt even more if we leave it."

Dikota looked at Luva as he spoke and suddenly noticed that her side was bleeding. She looked at it in shock and wonder. "I didn't notice it was that bad. It just felt like brusoed ribs." she said. She blinked her green eyes and looked at the white brute. Kota nodded once in response to his order as she moved closer to him.

Rain did not know what was happening. Of course, she did not show it. She acted as if she planned the whole thing. Once she heard a thud, the white fae knew it was over. She observed Luca and Kota. She had to admit, Luca was pretty handsome ( Razz

) but she could not have a crush, ect. Never again.

Taking the thought of crushes, ect, out of her mind, Rain decided to join in the howl. A soft, yet loud, silky, ghost-like howl echoed out of her muzzle, later echoing in the territory. When finishing the howl, Rain noticed the pack waiting for her. Stepping up, the vixen examined the buck, checking for any infections, wounds, ect. Once finished with her check up, she barked, "Let's eat!"

The white lupa turned her cranium, finding Kota with a bleeding side. Quite worried, Rain trotted over to her, asking, "You ok?" with a concerned look on the females face. The thought of crushes came back to her. Rain shuddered, not wanting to remember anything with crushes. But the past came back any way.

A warm, sunny afternoon, Rain and her past pack were dining on some hare. Except Rain. A dark brute shared his hare with her, although he let Rain finish it. Rain was surprised; all males but one did not share, even with their own pups! Touched by the males generosity, she smiled, and hunted down another hare, just for him. This went on for a while, until one day, the new Alphas (her parents were dead at the time) killed the brute, thinking no one shall have crushes, ect but the Alpha pair. Rain could not share a deep relationship with anybody else after that day.

Escaping from her flashback, the fae resumed her thoughts on Kotas wound. Worried, she looked up at Luca, "How bad is the wound?" Although Rain is smart, she knows she must trust the actual medic. Her orange eyes desperately searched for an answer.

Luca turned his head to look at the white vixen. "Not that serious, but it would be better to treat it now than to wait and let it get infected." The creamy white brute responded to the alpha. He turned his attention back on the wound. The bleeding has stopped by itself..even so, she's probably is quite some pain. She's tough, I'll give her that. The white male turned away and walked off. He scanned the area then carefully picked a dandelion. He returned and put it down in front of Dikota. "Chew on this. It'll help sooth the pain." he ordered.

"Not that serious, but it would be better to treat it now than to wait and let it get infected." The brute replied. Rain nodded. "Thank you," Rain responded. "If you want, I can take her, or walk her, to the main den," The vixen continued. The she wolf tilted her cranium towards the direction of the main den. Not detecting any foul, or dangerous predators, Rain started towards the den. She turned her head once more, observing Kota, again, relieved of no fatal injurys. Turning her head back, the white fae ran into the territory of the Main Den.

Dikota listened as Rain spoke to Luca. Seeing him place a dandelion at her feet. She didn't say anything but dropped her head. She nudged the flower and took note of the medics words. She shook her brown head and she turned back to the carcass. "I'm fine. I need to get this back to the den." she said. Pain was absant from her voice though it lingered in her eyes as she detached from her emotions to get past the pain. It was easy for the killer to do so after years of practice and she started to drag the dead buck back to the main den.
